This wine pays tribute to Frans Smit, cellar master and winemaker at Spier Wines since 1996. It stands in recognition of his personal dedication to winemaking and his ability to create wines of the utmost quality.

Creative Block is a range of blends for those that want something different. It takes its name from a Spier arts project that combines artworks from various artists and arranges them to create something new; something more than the sum of its parts. It is this principle of creatively blending different varietals from select vineyard blocks that allows us to make original and intriguing wines.

Vintage Selection is our premium range of single varietals that offers something new every year. This range is a celebration of the seasons. The winemake's challenge is harnessing the unique seasonal climates of the Western Cape. As every year is different, every vintage has a unique story to tell.

This wine is our first crafted from organic grapes, making it a true expression of Spier's ethos. The grapes are grown without the use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticide sprays or herbicides. This means that only the fittest survive, resulting in a great Spier Sauvignon Blanc made from the healthiest grapes that are grown in balance with their environment.
